Library Services: About Atlantic Cape Library Services

Describes services available from the libraries at Atlantic Cape.

Library Services at Atlantic Cape

Services at the Atlantic Cape libraries are designed to support learning, teaching, and all manner of intellectual inquiry for the college community and the broader South Jersey community. Core services include:

Borrowing (Circulation)

  • All current members of the college community may register with the library to borrow books and other resources.
    • Students will need their current Atlantic Cape ID card.
    • Faculty and staff will need their current employee ID card.
  • Residents of Atlantic and Cape May Counties may register as guest borrowers. A State-issued ID is required.
    • Are you already a member of the Atlantic County Library System? Use your ACLS card to request Atlantic Cape books and have them delivered to your home branch library. You don't need to come to Atlantic Cape to read our books.
  • Borrowed items can be returned to any Atlantic Cape library, or to any branch of the Atlantic County Library System.

Interlibrary Loan

When an item is not available in the collections of the Atlantic Cape libraries, we will be happy to request the material from another library. There is ordinarily no charge for this service. Interlibrary Loan is limited to current students, faculty, and staff of the college. Guest borrowers should place interlibrary loan requests through their home libraries.

Research Assistance

Librarians are always happy to help users to answer questions, find and evaluate information sources, explore topics, create citations, and any other activity related to finding and using information. Assistance is available at the reference desk, through online meetings, by phone or email. PLEASE ASK US QUESTIONS!

Library Instruction

As the information world grows increasingly complex, it is important for students to learn strategies for navigating successfully, selecting appropriate research tools and selecting relevant and valid sources. The library instruction program provides students with opportunities to acquire research skills that will support lifelong learning.

Services for Patrons with Disabilities

Atlantic Cape is committed to fostering a culture in which differently abled students can thrive. The libraries offer services and technological solutions to help students to gain access to the content of the collections, resources, and programs we offer.
